Australia
Australia, the amazing, exciting, wonderful Land Down Under. The world's
sixth largest country. Much of the interior of the country is flat and sparsely populated. The most outstanding quality about Australia is the magnificence
of its environment. Rich in grandeur and beauty, this land has engendered a deep significance in the culture of its inhabitants over thousands of years. The environment, in its gentle and more savage aspects, continues to inspire. It is woven into our art, food, history and literature that speaks of survival, isolation, and mateship.

AUSTRALIA'S COAT OF ARMS
The animals were allegedly selected for
two reasons. They are unique to Australia.
The Kangaroo left and the Emu right.
Neither can take a backward step.

AUSTRALIA'S NATIONAL EMBLAM
The green and gold of the Wattle are seen as symbolic
of Australia. Depictions of blooms have appeared in Coats of Arms and other Insignia since 1912. With the Waratah, Wattle flowers appeared on the Golden Trowels used to lay the foundation stones of the 1913 Commencement Column in Canberra. The species, Acacia Pycnantha, meaning "with dense flower heads", generally accepted as the National Emblem, was officially proclaimed on 1st September, 1988.
